Organisers of the Cancer Research Foundation´s (KAV) 12th Orchid Walk, to be held next Sunday, February 22, say they are being flooded with applications to take part.
The 10km walk starts at Kozanköy, ending at Karşiyaka primary school, and bus transport will be available at 7.30am from the Gazi Mağusa Municipality building; and at 8.30am from Karaoğlanoğlu´s Ship Inn, Güzelyurt bus terminal and Lefkoşa´s Atatürk Sports Hall.
The fundraiser will start at 9am, and fun activities as part of the day will include a break at the Heaven´s Gate area, where the women of Kozanköy will sell food and refreshments.
There will be a minute´s silence at the end of the trek, in memory of loved ones who lost their lives to cancer and a symbolic balloon release.
Tickets to take part in the Telsim-sponsored event, at a cost of 30TL, can be found at all Deniz Plaza branches.
