A book written by the late Turkish Cypriot leader Dr Fazil Kucuk in 1957 shows the Turkish plans for the partition of Cyprus.
The book was published in October 1957 under the title “Cyprus issue, a permanent solution,” and is proof that the dividing line through Cyprus was actually in 1957 and not in 1974.
In the introduction to the book, Fazil Kucuk writes that the book is dedicated to those who want a permanent solution to the Cyprus issue, which was claimed to have been artificially created by Greece “in order to extend its boundaries by ignoring the rights of their neighbours.”
In the introduction to the book, the British colonial minister writes that Turkish Cypriots are right to worry about their future and that they are a minority, but their “mother country” only 64 km away, while Greece, the ‘mother country’ for Greek Cypriots, is hundreds of mil away.
