A new chain of coffee shops from New Zealand is to open up in North Cyprus. Cooks Global Foods, which operates the Esquires Coffee brand, in a continuation of expanding its business worldwide announced this morning that it had signed a master franchise deal to launch Esquires Coffee Houses in Northern Cyprus, ‘NZHerald’ online reports.
The Cyprus franchise deal will include the rights for five Esquires Coffee Houses in the North, with the first shop planned to open in Nicosia in November.
The master franchise holder in the North is Baspinar Company, a wheat processing and milling company with interests in fast food and property development.
Director of Business Development Stuart Deeks said the move into Cyprus presented a good growth opportunity for the company.
The company uses only Fairtrade and organic products, something chairman Keith Jackson said provides a point of difference in the coffee industry.
The new franchise will be in direct competition with Australian chain Gloria Jeans.
