Victory Day, Zafer Bayrami, is celebrated in Northern Cyprus and Turkey. On this day, a rich tribute is given to the martyrs and their heroic deeds. August 30th is the day when the Battle of Dumlupinar ceased, which took place between 26 and 30 August 1922, near Afyonkarahisar in Turkey.
So, in memory of the battle and the warriors the day is celebrated with official ceremonies of the Army and a reception organized by the General Staff of the top politicians, bureaucrats, diplomats and generals.
