Happiness and contentment

I am a person who loves life and I am constantly curious about what’s around the corner. Big or small it does not matter; you learn something from everything that comes in one’s way. Good or bad it doesn’t really matter because everything is an experience in the school of life.

To be happy and satisfied with life is a rare luxury. The words do indeed differ for different people but the feeling is the same. They are satisfied and happy, satisfied with life.

I sat and pondered over this very question at the last full moon when I was sitting in my garden. What a strange feeling it was to just be there in this amazing environment, with total peace within me. The moon looked like a big piece of cheese and it gave off a strong light so I could see everything like in daylight but without the colours. There were just the sounds of waves in the background and total silence except for some natural sounds (and sometimes doggies). It was like sitting in the middle of an old black and white film, almost magically.

I then realized that yes I am happy and content. Totally relaxed and calm in body and soul, and in harmony with life.

I feel so privileged to have experienced this every day. Here in my valley I have found the peace within myself that I never had before. It has been a long and bumpy road here with many detours and abrupt changes in life. But now I’m home, it feels like.

No stress, fear or pressure, no chasing time if things don’t get done today, it doesn’t matter, maybe tomorrow or the day after.

I see my life today as a reward because I dared to drop everything and take the step to move here to my little piece of paradise.
