Kaplica, with its breath-taking coastline, has many historic places of interest. Here you will find The Church of St.George, which was completed in 1880, and also the chapel of Sozomenos, both located about two miles to the east of the village. Also most of the olive trees on the island grow in this area.
Kantara Castle, built in 1191 by Richard the Lionheart, after the conquest of Cyprus, is located in the Besparmak Mountains, very close to Kaplica Hotel. Just take a short drive with through Kaplica village and on the winding roads up in the mountains. The Kantara area can also offer a wide variety of activities in the colourful spectrum of the landscape. The area has a lot of trail networks for hiking, cycling, walking and biking. As the trails are all connected to each other, it is possible to hike across the whole island. The biking trail network in North Cyprus offers a unique opportunity for biking enthusiasts. The biking trails are set out geographically, covering a wide variety of topography to give you a well rounded feel of Kaplica.
