Staskiratous Street Party and Pop-up Festival

The eighth Staskiratous Street Party started at 11am on Saturday and went all the way up to 8pm last night. The two-day event was organised to impress both adults and children. The little ones could play on the carousels and other games, while also getting the chance to meet fairytale characters, such as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White, who walked up and down the streets to make their magical Christmas experience complete.

While the kids rode on the carousels the grown-ups could listen to live music, while sampling  free food and drinks, or marvel at cars from the 60s that were on display.

Models posing live in shop windows caused raised eyebrows and there were also DJs, children’s choirs and other groups of singers making the festive atmosphere a little brighter. We saw many people enjoying the music, while having a cup of coffee from the Nespresso stand, and buying Christmas sweets and crafts from charity associations, along with the Hope for Children organisation, who spread much cheer.

We also visited the pop-up festival on Makarios Avenue organised for the second year in a row by the Nicosia municipality, offering everything from knitwear to custom-made shoes, from ceramics to homemade food. To read more about the pop-up festival, click here.
