Near East Hospital opened their first dispensary in Güzelyurt yesterday, Thursday January 8. It is aimed to be open 6 days a week with all hospital branches ranging from general practitioners to paediatrics, serving the Guzelyurt public. The dispensary will have all the necessary equipment and medical supplies at hand.
NEU Hospital Chief Physician Dr Sevim Erkmen said the dispensaries will bring public health services to the highest level. She said their mission was to make patients feel at ease and at home and know that they were in the best hands.
Media from several different newspapers and broadcasters had gathered for the opening of the new dispensary in Güzelyurt.
When the presidential car arrived everyone gathered around it to get a glimpse of President Derviş Eroğlu.
After the Mayor of Güzelyurt, Mahmut Özcinar, and the President of TRNC, amongst others, held their speeches it was time to cut the red ribbon and right then the clouds dispersed and the sun peeped out.
When the ribbon was cut the president took a tour inside the building to look at the premises. People mingled and our photographer Maria got a picture with the president, as shown below.
The Near East University Hospital Guzelyurt Dispensary (clinic) is now open for business. In a statement from the Near East, the Hospital will be opening up dispensaries around the country for ease of access for the public.
