The artist Athina Betini is putting her new painting collection entitled District Confessions on display as of tomorrow at the Apocalypse Gallery in Nicosia.
The Greek artist always brings something fresh to each new collection. This is why fans of her work and lovers of art await her new work with curiosity about what her new theme may be.
Although the themes change, Betini’s personal identity as an artist does not. She always brings her unique artistic flair to each collection and invites the audience to venture into unknown worlds, which sometimes may be dreamed up and at other times are memories or ideas.
District Confessions present images of Little Lola which narrate the girl’s story without words. Lola never really existed but it is through this character that Betini chooses to share with us her ideas, her moments of sadness and joy.
Bettini was born in Athens and studied history of art. She went on to take fresco classes and enter the world of Byzantine art. She has been living in London for many years and has exhibited her work in England, Denmark, the Channel Islands, Greece and Cyprus.
Professor of Modern Greek Literature at the University of Cyprus, Panteles Voutoures, will talk about Betini’s work during the opening of the exhibition.
