Last night saw the opening of a new photography exhibition at the Atatürk Culture Centre in Nicosia. The photographs exhibited are all contributions from the North Cyprus annual photo contest that qualified to be on the show.
The competition was open to both professional and amateur photographers and the images were taken from various locations around the world. The photographs that won the competition categories are marked so that you can see who the winners are.
All photographs are for sale; half of the money goes to the photographer and the other half goes towards charity contributions to cancer research. This exhibition is held every year in memory of the famous photographer and businessman Öztan Öztay who meant a lot to Cyprus in the areas of photography and video.
The organizers of the exhibition are his three children who have taken over and run the father’s business Ozatay & Co. The company specializes in photography, video and electronics.
The exhibition takes place between the 10th and February 19th.
