Do you want to learn Turkish? Then you have the chance this autumn/winter in the Home for Cooperation in Nicosia (buffer zone), where the courses will be held for both beginners and for those who already have basic skills. Both courses will focus on reading, listening, grammar and Turkish culture. The beginner’s course will focus on everyday language and basic grammar, while the intermediate level offers the possibility to practice your conversation skills in more depth, which will lead to more understanding of Turkish grammar.
The teacher is Spryoula Mayrommati, who has extensive experience in teaching Turkish as a second language in both municipal and private schools. Mayrommati studied Turkish in Cyprus and Bulgaria, as well as Business Administration in UK.
Courses start on Monday, 14 September. The beginner’s course starts at 6pm and the intermediate level starts at 7.30pm. The cost is 75 euros for three months and to register please contact: admin@home4cooperation.info
Home for Cooperation also holds Greek language courses. On Tuesday the beginner’s class starts at 6pm and the intermediate level starts at 7.30pm. For those who are not interested in languages there are other fun things to participate in. On Tuesday there are sumba and salsa workshops, the sumba class is between the hours 7-8pm and salsa is between the hours of 8.15pm to 9.15pm. There is also a workshop where you can learn to play the Cypriot flute, which takes place on Monday between the hours of 20-21pm. No previous musical knowledge is required and all are welcome. On Monday you can also learn to play the djembe, where a group will learn different techniques, between the hours of 6.45 to 7.45pm.
