Cyprus and Sweden’s good relations will continue. The leader of the delegation Sweden-Cyprus Friendship Group in the Swedish Parliament, Cecilia Magnusson with two members of the delegation, Sotiris Delis and Eva Lohman has today been meeting with House President Yiannakis Omirou. The group is one of the Swedish Parliamentary Friendship Association, where members of parliament who are interested in a specific country lead a project for the exchange of knowledge and build up contacts with the country. Both countries expressed the desire to expand cooperation further.
Cecilia Magnusson emphasized the good relationship between Cyprus and Sweden, and spoke about Sweden’s interest in the good work of the Cyprus issue. Omirou informed the Swedish delegation on the latest developments and the most important aspects of the issue, which he mentioned Turkey’s role as a key. They also touched on the refugee crisis and that Cyprus has contributed to stability and cooperation in the region.
