Fikri Toros on the expected progress of the Confidence Building Measures

President of Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce Fikri Toros stated that the expected progress was not achieved in the projects which were carried out within the framework of the Confidence Building Measures and with the support of the Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce and Greek Cypriot Chamber of Trade and Industry and this caused frustrations and concerns in both Chambers.

Fikri Toros also stated that they feel uncomfortable because the expected progress was not achieved on the issues which they are carrying out together with the Greek Cypriot Chamber of Trade and Industry. The projects are as follows; “interconnection of the mobile phones”, “ensuring transition of the Turkish Cypriot industrial tool to the South within the context of the Green Line Regulation”, “the opening of extra crossing points”, “interconnection and enlargement of the electric networks with each other”. Toros also stated that although President Akıncı approved the projects, the Greek Cypriot leader Anastasiades did not.
