A car treasure hunt in aid of cancer patients will take place on Sunday, January 17, it has been announced.
The event, which is being held for the third year in a row, forms part of a series of activities leading up to the Esentepe Fun, Run and Ramble on April 10.
Over 72 teams took part in last year’s 28km treasure hunt which raised just over 2,000TL for the Help Those with Cancer Association, Tulips.
This year’s event will again be hosted at Stevies Restaurant and Bar in Küçük Erenköy which will also be the starting and end point of the route.
A two-course “Treasure Hunt Sunday Roast” costing 32TL per person is on offer at the venue, 7TL of which will be donated to Tulips. Bookings must be made in advance.
Organisers advised participants to register early for the treasure hunt as places are limited. Although there will be no limitations on the number of passengers in each car “safety must be paramount”, they added, for the approximately 150-minute drive. Entry costs 40TL for each car.
“This event is not a race but is designed to be fun, with some skilful driving, map reading and clue solving,” said Sue Steel of the organising committee.
The briefing for the treasure hunt will begin at 1pm for a 2pm start. A motoring quiz, raffle and a small auction will also be held during the day with all proceeds going towards Tulips.
A plaque will be handed out to the winning team, with a trophy presented in April. To register for the treasure hunt and to make a booking for the two-course meal call Stevie on 0533 849 4744.
