Barış Park Wednesday Market

New Cyprus Magazine visited Barış Park Wednesday Market in Kyrenia last week. The market offers the same goods as before but is now moved a few metres to be situated under a roof.

When we visited, the market was full of people walking among the stands of fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts and herbs. Everything from local producers.

As a Swedish person I was astonished by the cheap prices; you could get one kilo of oranges for only 2TL! Because of that, we were able to stock up on enough goods to be forced to go three rounds to the car to drop off the bags. So now my fridge is filled with Cypriotic blood orange, lemon, pumpkin, eggplant, carrot, broccoli, tomato and lots of other lovely fruit and veg.

I really recommend to pay a visit to Barış Park if you want to buy locally grown and fresh fruits and vegetables.
