Ceramicists on ‘Together Again’ project

Ceramic artists are continuing their bicommunal project Together Again with an exhibition of new works at South Nicosia’s Loucai Michael Zampelas Art Museum.

The group of 20 artists, 10 from each of the island’s communities, created ceramic installations and geometric and abstract works at workshops for their second show which will launch at the Makarios Avenue-based Zmart gallery in Kaimakli at 7pm today.

Artists showcased their work at Lefkoşa’s Eaved House last October when TRNC President Mustafa Akinci opened their first Together Again show with the words: “We have waited decades for this and I hope we will not wait so long for the next one!”

Cyprus Turkish Ceramicists’ Association head Semral Öztürk said she believed artists could play an important role in reconciliation on the island.

The show will run until January 30 and may be visited Monday to Thursday from 10am-1pm and 3-6pm, Friday from 10am-1pm and 3-7pm, or Saturday from 10am-6pm.
