Thoc to screen Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera

A film version of the bold and anarchic National Theatre production of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill’s raucous musical The Threepenny Opera is to be screened on Tuesday, January 31 at the South Nicosia Theatre Organisation of Cyprus (Thoc).

The adaptation by Simon Stephens, who also adapted The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, sets the darkly comic tale of “Mack the Knife” in London during the run-up to the 1953 Coronation and stars Olivier award-winner Rory Kinnear, Rosalie Craig and Haydn Gwynne.

Tickets for the 8.30pm show, in English with Turkish and Greek subtitles, are priced at 10 euros (six euros for pensioners, unemployed and under-25s with ID). More information and directions may be obtained by phoning Thoc on +357 777 72717.
