This Monday, March 20, the Iranian New Year called Noruz is celebrated. The day falls on the day of the vernal equinox and Persians all over the world celebrate that spring and the sun return. Historically, it is closely related to Zoroastrianism, an ancient religion that was prevalent in the Persian Empire during antiquity. Iranians celebrate the feast of several days with bonfires and lots of food that is traditionally served with a special New Years cloth on the table.
For Iranians (and others who want to join and celebrate) there will be modern Noruz celebrations in several places in North Cyprus. One of them is at Club Boom in Famagusta where DJ Milad will play. There will also be live performances by singers Arashk and Hooman, as well as a big surprise to the guests.
