A “celebration” of food and and music will take place in Çatalköy in September as The Fez restaurant and bar aims to repeat the success of last year’s “FezTival”.
In 2016, some 600 people gathered under the sun and enjoyed entertainment by nine acts while enjoying a meal from three different choices of cuisine.
Organisers Steve Heffernan and Hayal Beyler have confirmed that the event will go ahead again on September 9, with various stalls selling food and a “surprise” guest appearance.
A 10Tl entrance fee has been introduced for this year’s FezTival, which Mr Heffernan said was deemed necessary to help make the spectacle “even bigger and better”.
He said work was already under way to provide extra toilets, shading, more staff and a “revised layout”. Coach rides, costing 25TL per seat, will also be made available for passengers from Karsiyaka and Küçük Erenköy, providing they have booked in advance.
“We are currently working on the preparations for the event, from the singers to the food stalls, and we hope to have at least six different tastes,” Mr Heffernan said. “We welcome all of those who can contribute to the event by providing their culinary and musical skills.”
