Home care system at work

A new system for home care began in the centre of Lefkosa last week, in an effort to increase preventive medicine.

Health Minister Ahmet Gülle said the system, which includes visits from local health officials and followed, if necessary, calls from doctors and nurses, will be rolled out to other municipalities around the country.

The first operation is currently focused on about 2,800 older people in the walled capital city, which was announced by the minister and the mayor Lefkosas Fellahoglu Kadri, who said the aim is to provide better public services.
