A charity evening in Tatlisu in honour of the ambulance force

This Saturday, August 23rd, is a great opportunity for those of you who live around the Tatlisu area to help out and raise money for the existing ambulance force that is in place.

It is minutes that save lives, and for the Girne ambulance to drive out to Tatlisu area takes around 35 minutes.

The restaurant, where the charity evening is held, Ne & Şe Bar and Restaurant (see map below), is located before the big roundabout in Tatlisu if you come from Girne.

Price is 30TL (5TL goes to the ambulance fund) and includes eight meze, salad, chips, chicken kebabs, Turkish desserts, ice cream and live music with singer Gavin.

Money raised during the evening will go towards purchasing additional equipment for the ambulance force, which is based in Tatlisu and covers all of this end of the island, from Yeni Erenkoy to Esentepe.

The ambulance is always staffed with a driver and a medical person and if there is a traffic accident or if the person is English speaking, a CESV (Civil Emergency Service Volunteer) is called out to assist.

CESV, who organizes the event, will gladly accept donations in the evening if people feel that they would like to make a contribution.

The ambulance car in Tatlisu came out of retirement June 3rd 2014 and the first day the crew received a full five call outs. The hope with the charity evening is to raise enough money to be able to add extra towards funding a new ambulance so that the current can be put back into retirement!

Their message: Thank you for helping us save lives, the better equipment the ambulance has the better chance we have to save lives!
