The sun shone from a clear blue sky on participants in the first duathlon competition that the TRNC-Triathlon Federation organized for the season. The duathlon starts the leg with a 5 km run, then switches to bikes and then ends the leg with a final run.
About 60 girls and boys from different clubs had gathered before the start to prepare their bikes and equipment thoroughly. Number tags were handed out and a large number of traffic police had cordoned off parts of the street so that the race could be started undisturbed.
The winner in the women’s class: Emine Ulucay from the club Ares Spor Kulübü, time 01:19:90.
The winner in the men’s class: Zafer Sukuşu from the club Aspava Spor Kulübü, time 1:05:27.
