A walk through Dogankoy

Dogankoy is a small historic village set in a modern time that has come to merge with Kyrenia and become one of the area’s most attractive neighbourhoods. The Greek name for Dogankoy is Thermeia. The oldest building in Dogankoy is the little white Panagia Thermeiotissa Church. It is a cosy village to wander through and the road which leads through Dogankoy passes the local café Dogankoy Koyevi then meanders on through the stone-lined neighbourhoods along the scenic mountains.

Dogankoy is a nice place to visit, not least for the local café which is a natural gathering place for people. Here you can quietly sit down in the shade of an umbrella, order a beer and watch the people stroll by. If you want to walk to the church, there are signs showing the way. Many people like Dogankoy so much that they decide to settle here. We speak with a happy bunch Englishmen who have lived here for over ten years and who love North Cyprus.
