On July 4, the annual change of Presidency of the Rotary Club of Kyrenia St Hilarion took place and Alev Alp took over the Chairmanship and Chain of Presidents from the outgoing President at a Ceremoni at Palm Garden Guest House.
The Rotary Club of Kyrenia St Hilarion is celebrating 20 years this year, founded in 2005. This year it has been 75 years since Rotary attended the San Francisco conference that led to the founding of the United Nations. Since that day, a big part of Rotary’s mission is to actively work for peace.
Another important work that Rotary is doing is the global PolioPlus Project, which aims to exterminate the disease.
– The fact that Polio is almost extinct on a global level is largely due to the fact that Rotary is an important player in this, says the new president Alev Alp.
– For our Club, 2020 has begun with an intensive work to support our community during the ongoing pandemic. Our local Rotary Club has taken on a role to actively support with help, concludes Alev Alp.
