Ayia Thekla beach perfect for weddings

Ayia Thekla beach

Thomas Cook has recommended Ayia Thekla beach in Sotira as the perfect place to hold a beach wedding in the Summer 2016 edition of its ‘Travel’ magazine.

With a readership of over two million, the quarterly magazine is distributed on all Thomas Cook flights, with an editorial that features ‘destination-specific content and lifestyle features’.

The Summer 2016 edition covers Cyprus, the Greek Islands, Malta, Tobago, Venice, Cape Town, Majorca, Mexico and Los Angeles.

The piece in the magazine is a feature entitled ‘Spotlight on Cyprus’, which is “a look at the best bars, restaurants and ways to explore the island”. The spotlight on weddings – which is number 21 – says: “The famous Ayia Thekla beach in Sotira is a lovely stretch of coastline where turquoise waters lap the shore… you couldn’t find a more picturesque place for a wedding to remember”.

The magazine further recommends Sotira Municipality’s Wedding Department ‘Sotira Weddings’ for wedding planning services.

Neighbouring Ayia Napa takes the first spot for ‘the place to party’ as a whole resort, whilst other services and experiences are also recommended in the region: Ramo Pro Cycling and Prot R U Moto Bike Hire – both in Protaras; Nissiotis in Protaras and Paula’s Restaurant in Ayia Napa for dining; the Black Pearl pirate cruise in Ayia Napa for entertainment; Santa Marina Polyclinic in Paralimni for medical services, and the five-star Grecian Park in Cape Greco as best luxury hotel.
