Bartender Course with Çağatay Ercan!

New Cyprus Magazine got to attend a bartender course at Gerrard’s Pub in Famagusta earlier last week. A well known Turkish bartender, Çağatay Ercan, is travelling across the Mediterranean holding bartender courses for the ones looking to improve their cocktail making skills.

Çağatay has many years of experience and came third in the Turkish national bartender competition a few years ago. He has a passion for entertaining in a charming way but emphasises the importance of making the best drink possible. He is now a drink consultant, creating cocktail menus and teaching the staff how to make tasty drinks, and this is what he has done at Gerrarad’s Irish Pub. The city centre pub gets customers from far to try the seasonal cocktail menu, now with refreshing summer drinks.

The participants of the evening course got to learn how to make three different drinks using spirits, absinthe and fresh fruit and spices. It resulted in three delicious refreshing drinks and that the participants learned the basics of mixing flavors, using shakers and create the drink with a beautiful presentation.

You always have fun during Çağatay’s classes and this time was no exception. A lot of laughter and other bar guests noticed the great atmosphere and joined, tasted the drinks and loved them. Çağatay will hold classes every month and to join, please make the reservations to Gerrard’s Irish Pub.
