It was a two day long celebration when Kyrenia’s new meyhane restaurant Nazende had its opening last week. A meyhane can be described as a traditional Turkish tavern, with entertainment and food in plenty. Here they don’t hold back on anything, and the evenings tend to be full of dance and music. At Nazende’s opening, as should, 22 kinds of mezes were served to each table, and then grilled meat of all kinds. On the stage appeared a band playing traditional Turkish music, that later cruised around the tables and sang. Cypriots love their meyhanes and always burst out in spontaneous singing and dancing, and this evening was no exception!
The two brothers who own the restaurant were very pleased with the opening ceremony and are looking forward to a long summer with amazing evenings outside in the beautiful garden. They greet special welcome to all foreign tourists who want to take part in a Turkish and Cypriot meyhane experience!
Nazende is open every day and you can also come here for breakfast and lunch. Those who do not want traditional meyer dishes can order from an à la carte menu.
