British pianist to play the Shoe Factory

London’s Keyboard Charitable Trust partners with South Nicosia’s Pharos Arts Foundation this month for a recital at the Shoe Factory by Mark Viner, one of the most exciting British concert pianists of his generation.

The 2012 Alkan-Zimmerman International prize-winner recently completed tours of the USA and Germany and was elected chairman of the Alkan Society in the UK three years ago.

He is renowned for “bold championing of unfamiliar pianistic terrain”.

The 8.30pm Friday March 24 recital offers a programme including works by Liszt, Charles-Valentin Alkan, S Thalberg and Chopin.

Tickets are priced at 15 euros and may be booked at www.thepharostrust.org/Tickets_online.htm or by calling +357 96 669003 Monday to Friday between 11am and 4pm.
