The European Parliament Office in Cyprus on Friday presented awards to high school students for drawing postage stamps inspired by EU principles and values.
The awarded drawings will be printed as postal stamps which will be included in a collection of stamps to be issued in May and released on Europe Day on May 9.
The competition was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Culture and first prize went to Andri Kouti of Apostles Peter and Paul Lyceum in Limassol.
The second prize went to Elisabeta Toskaya of Limassol’s American Academy, the third to Marianthi Philippou of Linopetra Lyceum of Limassol and the fourth to Stelios Papachristoforou of Nicosia Olympion Lyceum.
The awards were presented by MEPs Lefteris Christoforou (DISY-EPP), Marios Mavridis (DIKO-S&D) and Demetris Papadakis (EDEK-S&D) and Theophilos Gabriel of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
