Fairy Tale Concert

Lefkosa Music Association

Songs to warm you up on a winter’s day are on offer from Lefkosa Music Association at an 8pm free-of-charge Fairy Tale Concert at Near East University’s Atatürk Cultural Centre on Tuesday.

A programme of Turkish classic art music is on offer from the choir and soloists who will be accompanied by “saz” (Turkish lute) players and colourful dancers.

The evening promises a repertoire of “nihavend”, “hicaz” and “gecende” styles of Turkish music. Veteran conductor Aydin Hikmet said: “If you would like a fairy tale for your ears, just tell your driver, ‘Near East University please’!”
