As of today the works of Greek artist Dimitris Nalbandis, which will be auctioned off next Tuesday, will be on display at the Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum in Nicosia.
There will be a total of 185 pieces of work on display in two sections.
The first consists of 100 artworks inspired by the scenery and culture of Cyprus. You will be able to see how the island charmed the artist, who depicted its beauty, history, nature, architecture and culture on canvas.
The second section is made up of 85 pieces of artwork, collectively under the title 40 years of painting. This collection combines Nalbandis’ older and most recent work, reflecting his lifelong career as an artist.
His most notable work “Memories” will also be on display. Nalbandis participated in the global art exhibition under the auspices of the UN with this art piece. He was selected from 108 Greek painters to represent Greece, and the UN chose him from 68 counties to represent Europe with his painting. The work was later reproduced as the UN postage stamp and it is the only stamp in the UN that refers to Greece.
You can view a catalog of the works here.
