King and Tilt issue new guidance for fundraisers

Help Those with Cancer Association (Tulips) fund-raisers Carole King and Sue Tilt have issued new guidance to anyone wishing to organise an event for the association or hand over charity funds.

Potential charity event organisers are requested to contact Mrs King or Mrs Tilt for advice or to contact Seda Avcan at the Tulips office – on 0542 882 3658 or by email at sedaavcann@khyd.org.

Mrs Tilt stressed the importance of ensuring that all events were legal and asked that she or Mrs King be informed in advance of any plans to ensure that the charity and organisers were protected.

She added: “We are the source of information for the newly diagnosed to make an informed choice.

“Expats tend to rush back to the UK (after a cancer diagnosis) when they might be better advised, especially if the UK is no longer their home, to remain in North Cyprus with the assistance of our expat support workers.

“Public support is vital to maintain this level of care, so we are just ensuring that the public have complete trust in our fundraising and activities.”
