At The Meyhane Restaurant, you get a Cypriot food experience beyond the usual. Outside the lush garden, you are well taken care of as a dinner guest and the food served is really something extraordinary. The high standard – always with daily fresh ingredients and exceptional service – is a conscious choice. Restaurants that are far from the city’s tourist-friendly streets must earn their reputation to fill the tables and The Meyhane Restaurant really does. Every weekend, the Cypriot Tavern and the à la carte restaurant is packed with guests. Cheering is most often done with raki and there is dancing between the tables while the Turkish meze dishes arrive in a fierce stream. The enchanting atmosphere sweeps through the garden while traditional Turkish tones rise towards the tip of the olive trees and into the starry night.
The meyhane opened already in 2011, then as a smaller restaurant with only 30 seats. As more guests have found their way here, the capacity has risen to 140 seats in the garden, and 120 indoors. Today, it is one of the largest meyane’s in Cyprus.
A meyhane is not only a restaurant, it is also an experience. The idea is to sit for a long time, enjoy food and drink, and be part of the atmosphere. The restaurant has a clear menu where guests can choose what suits them best. Menu number one is called “Fixed Menu”. Here everything is included; 16 cold mezes, hot mezes, kebabs of different kinds and fruit as dessert. Menu number two has been named “Raki Lovers” with cold and hot mezes as well as dessert. Menu number three consists of cold mezes and menu number four of cold and hot mezes. You can also order à la carte and starters. There is also a vegetarian menu.
On weekdays you can usually enter without having booked in advance. Weekends are usually full so to be guaranteed a table it is always recommended to make a table reservation in advance.
