Golfers retired their razors on Saturday for a month as they embarked on a 30 day moustache growing marathon to raise awareness about men’s health. Korineum Golf and Beach Resort will host a Movember Golf Competition on Friday, November 21 which is open to all golfers following their Pink October drive last month.
The “Movember” movement recruits “Mo Bros” every November, enlisting wives, daughters, mothers or girlfriends, dubbed “Mo Sistas”, to fundraise on their behalf.
A global effort which began in Melbourne, Australia, in 2003, has now recruited more than four million supporters and raised over $550 million since its inception, funding men’s health programmes, especially on prostate and testicular cancer. Geoff Turner and the 3H Golf Society, also known as Harrison’s High Handicappers, are organising the event and more details may be obtained via email at geetee53@gmail.com.
