Güzelyurt’s museum of nature and archaeology has been here since 1979. The ground floor displays a collection of stuffed animals from Cyprus. It is interesting to see what animal species live in Cyprus, although the stuffed animals look pretty sad.
On the upper floor, archaeological finds are displayed in chronological order, including artefacts from the Bronze Age. There are a large number of finds from the ancient city of Soli located in Lefke. It’s cool to see all these findings, ranging from jewellery, gold tiaras, bowls, cups and large pots with preserved patterns and colours. Many of these millennial objects are displayed freely with no barriers!
