Father and son Sitki Firat and Aykut Firat are two world-renowned photographers from Turkey. In late December, they exhibited their work at Atatürk Cultural Centre in Nicosia. New Cyprus Magazine was there at the opening vernissage. We met Tevfik from FEED, the Turkish Cypriot photo Association, which organized the exhibition. He told us that the photographers Firat document the old Turkish Empires in countries such as Albania, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
At the Atatürk Cultural Centre, they often exhibit both local and foreign artists.
