Pink October Cancer Charity Campaign

Bikers in pink and “Jocks in Frocks” are on the bill at Ozankoy’s Corner House as well as tea and tarot for the ladies, to support the “Pink October cancer charity campaign”.

The three day festival in aid of the Help Those With Cancer Association (Tulips) kicks off on Friday 24th October were five male regulars have promised to squeeze into pink frocks complete with make-up and painted fingernails for a leg-wax by sponsors Pamper Yourself and an 8pm catwalk show around the bar.

The “Jocks in Frocks” say that they will only do the show if they can net a total of 1000TL apiece for Tulips from personal sponsorship. Pink cocktails will be served on the night.

A ladies afternoon tea will be hosted on Saturday, 25th October, with a tarot card reader who promises to donate her 20TL fee for each session to Tulips.

The bar is also selling Tulips “Hope. Believe in Life.” T-shirts in pink or black priced at 12TL and Swarowski crystal “bra” key ring’s priced at 10TL.

Sunday, 26th October promises rock music, beer, burgers and lots of motorbikes at their Third Gazafana Motorbike Expo 2014 with bikers choosing to wear pink rather than black leather to support Tulips.

Live music will be on offer from the Blue Tears rock and blues band from midday till 5pm and the road in front of the bar will be closed to cars.

Bar owner Harriette Yildirim said: “We have masses of pink ribbons and balloons to help and it will be quite a crazy weekend.”

Bikers gave generously when Tulips fundraisers Sue Tilt and Carole King turned up to collect for the cancer charity last year.
