In April, the presidential elections comence in North Cyprus and the current President Derviş Eroğlu is in the running for presidency in the hope of being able to keep his place. The election campaign is in full swing and on last Friday evening he held speech to party members in his party Ulusal Birlik Partisi, UBP.
The premises in Nicosia exhibition area (Lefkosa Fuer Alani), was filled to the brim with excited people who came there to hear the president give speeches. When Eroğlu finished his speech the sound of the applause thundered in the venue and in some areas the audience broke out in song and happy cries.
