The fourth and final round of the North Cyprus Run Wild Trail Race Series will take place on Sunday, December 6, starting and finishing in the village of Karaman, it has been confirmed.
Organisers said they anticipated a good turnout for the 10km event, which will start at 9am, with a number of competitors from both sides of the island expected to take part.
Attention is likely to be focused on the outcome of the women’s championship where two runners – Ozlem Ozenen and Natalie Christopher – are tied on 30 points each after the third “short but challenging” round near St Hilarion Castle.
Christopher led the November 1 race from start to finish, crossing the line in one hour, four minutes and 18 seconds. Isabelle Chrysanthou came second, with Fiona Addington grabbing third spot.
Zed Muir will begin the day as the leading male runner after a hard-fought victory. He won in a time of 55 minutes and 56 seconds, but was pushed all the way by Craig Reece, who crossed the finish line just four seconds behind him. Marios Hadjipetris came third. Muir now comfortably leads the men’s standings with 40 points, followed by Chris Moss on 18 and Reece on 17.
