Ryanair announced on Friday a new summer route from Paphos to Tel Aviv, with a daily service beginning in March.
The announcement was welcomed by the Paphos tourism board (Etap), that said that this was the result of “years of efforts”.
The daily flights between Paphos and Israel will commence on March 28 until October, Etap said, with the prospect of the continuation of flights on a year-round basis.
“This development comes as a Christmas present for Paphos and Cyprus in general as Ryanair’s decision is expected to give a significant boost to the economy – real-estate, tourism, etc – and further development of various segments of tourism such as short breaks, wedding tourism, sports tourism etc.,” Etap said in an announcement.
It is in everyone’s hands, it said, to contribute not only to ensure the success of the new service but to also further develop the air links with Israel on a year-round basis.
