A new children’s amusement park in Çatalköy is proving a hit with families just weeks after opening its doors to the public.
Supreme Park, which is believed to be the TRNC’s first permanent amusement park, includes a bouncy castle and slide, trampolines, electric cars, bumper boats, a swing carousel and a pirate ship “gondola” ride.
Owners said the outdoor attractions, which cost 3TL cater for children from age two upwards. The 1.5 million TL disabled friendly complex is built on six dönüms of land and includes a restaurant so parents can relax while staff keep a watchful eye on their offspring, although those without children are also welcome.
“It is an amazing feeling to see the happiness on the faces of children and know that they are enjoying themselves to the fullest as there is so much to do in the park,” director Ozgür Türcan said.
“As a father of two, I know that our country lacks these kinds of amusement areas for children. “Parents looking for places to take their children either travel abroad or go to the south side of the island. “Our vision was to offer an accessible place for families in order to fill in the gap children seek.”
Mr Turcan said he planned to expand the project in the future, to include more daring rides for adults “In the future we are hoping to build a fun fair for all our people of the TRNC and hope this investment will be worthwhile as we want to make a change to our country and contribute to the economy,” he said.
The venue was built by the owners of Supreme Supermarket, a family-run business which first started under the name Ademoğlu in 2004.
