Ahhh amour, love, the feeling of romance in the air, and images of cupids. All these things and more are what Valentine’s Day is all about. And the big day falls on a Saturday this year.
In addition to the chocolates, hearts and cuddly bears, Valentine’s is also a time for music.
So let the romance of music take you away on an imaginary journey for two, courtesy of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra in Paphos on the day of love.
The night opens with the passionate suite Love the Magician, by Spanish conductor Manual de Falla and other love duets from the operatic repertoire.
The symphony’s conductor Alkis Baltas will lead the symphony together with Cypriot baritone Kypros Patsalides and Cypriot soprano Chryso Makariou.
The symphony will also be warming up the atmosphere for the celebration of love in Larnaca on Thursday, and in Nicosia on Friday.
