Restaurant reviews made by travellers have resulted in Certificates of Excellence for hospitality and service being awarded to No 14, Efendi Gastro Bar and Restaurant, Silver Rocks, Bella Moon, The kyrenia Tavern, Niazi’s, Ikimiz Restaurant, Grida Fish Restaurant, The Terrace and Ambiance.

Hotels that made it to the top 10 are the High Life Hotel, Merit Park Hotel and Casino, Pia Bella, Merit Royal Hotel and Casino, Rocks Hotel Casino, The Arkin Colony Hotel, The Ship Inn, Kyrenia Palace Boutique Hotel, Oscar Resort Hotel and the Olive Tree. The Merit Royal Hotel and Casino, Rocks Hotel Casino and The Arkin Colony Hotel have also been awarded the “Traveler’s Choice 2017 Winner” accolade based on the experiences and opinions of guests.

Amy Hurn, ownr of Efendi, which came second in the top 10 restaurants, said: “We are delighted about being in the top 10. This is the fifth time we have received a Certificate of Excellence and it is an honour for us, recognising that we provide good quality food and service to customers who range from tourists to the local community whether expats or Turkish Cypriots. They all enjoy the food, thanks to our excellent chef.”

Hüseyin Fırıncıoğlu, owner of the High Life Hotel  which came first in the top 10 hotels, said: “I took over the hotel three years ago although it has been open for 15 years. Ninety per cent of our customers are from the UK and these people choose where they want to stay by knowing what they want and they definitely appreciate good service. Receiving such awards in return for what we try hard to do best is simply overwhelming.”
