Updated: Rubbish collection

Updated: Northern Cyprus’ president, Dervis Eroglu, participated in the environmental platform entitled (Let’s do it). The environment Platform aims to keep the country clean by locating and collecting garbage.

In the meeting, the president urged all the citizens to be part of the campaign and stressed the importance of cleanliness.

Eroglu said: “Environmental degradation has reached a level that interferes with every one of us. It is very important that the community becomes united for this cause, I invite all citizens to join the campaign on the 5th June at the World Environment Day.”

Eroglu said that all of the President’s staff will be available on June 5th to make its contribution in cleaning the country.

Posters for “Let’s Do It” junk challenge campaign has been set up, which encourages people to participate in the international event next month. The clean-up, organized by Environment Platform, is held on Thursday, June 5th, from 8:00 to 1:00 p.m. and volunteers are welcome to join in.
