Meteorologists say there is every chance that the lower regions of Cyprus will experience snow showers on Monday as temperatures prepare to dive even more.
Sunday had seen temperatures drop to as low as 9’C inland, 11’C in the coastal regions and around 1’C in the mountains – which also saw heavy snow and many roads leading to Troodos closed off. The freezing weather is being caused by a low-pressure system across the eastern Mediterranean.
Monday’s forecast sees temperatures dropping even more which could pave the way for light snow showers in the lower plains of Cyprus. A similar pattern is expected for Tuesday with temperatures expected to begin climbing as of Wednesday.
