Young individuals who believe in an inclusive society, have innovative ideas about a common future and want to #ShapeCyprus, are invited to join the UN Special Adviser of the Secretary-General on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide, Global Shapers Nicosia and prominent speakers from the entrepreneurship, arts & culture and education sectors in the conference ‘Young people #ShapeCyprus’ on 28 November in the historical Ledra Palace hotel.
The event is organised by Global Shapers Nicosia, and is the first Global Shapers hub in Cyprus, established in 2014, which undertakes activities to empower young people, promote active citizenship and entrepreneurship.
Global Shapers is a worldwide network of more than 450 Hubs around the world which are led by young people who are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a contribution to their communities.
“Currently, the opinion of young people is not represented in the ongoing negotiations for the solution of the Cyprus problem,” says the invitation posted on the Global Shapers website (http://www.globalshapers.org).
“The ‘Young people #shapeCyprus’ conference aims to create a forum for young people to come together, exchange ideas about the future of unified Cyprus and place their recommendations on the agenda,” it continues.
Keynote speaker at the event, which comprises of panel sessions and workshops around 3 themes -Entrepreneurship, Education, and Arts & Culture- is UN SASG Espen Barth Eide.
